Wrong email address:

A couple going on vacation but his wife was on a business trip so he went to the destination first and his wife would meet him the next day.

When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick email.

Unfortunately, when typing her address, he mistyped a letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly preacher’s wife whose husband had passed away only the day before.

When the grieving widow checked her email, she took one look at the monitor, let out a piercing scream, and fell to the floor in a dead faint.

At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note on the screen:

Dearest Wife,
Just got checked in. Everything prepared for your arrival tomorrow.
P.S. Sure is hot down here

Mechanism of type 2 Diabetes in humans

A newly discovered mechanism behind reduced insulin production in type 2 diabetes is now being presented. In an article in Nature Communications, researchers at Sahlgrenska Academy describe how insulin-producing cells regress in their development, become immature, and do not work properly. A finding that opens the doors to new clinical treatments.

"If you can affect things at the cellular level and restore the body's own rapid regulation, you can more accurately adjust blood sugar compared to what is possible with insulin injections," says Anders Rosengren, associate professor who is active at the Department of Neuroscience and Physiology as well as the Wallenberg Centre for Molecular and Translational Medicine at the University of Gothenburg.

It has long been known that the insulin-producing cells fail in type 2 diabetes. The body does not get enough insulin and blood sugar rises. One theory argues that the insulin-producing cells become fewer in number, while another argues that their function is impaired.

The new explanation, which combines the debated theories, states that the insulin-producing cells regress in their development and become immature. This reduces the number of functional cells.

The gene that drives the process

With the help of 124 tissue samples, of which 41 were from people with type 2 diabetes, the researchers were able to determine which genetic changes in the cells affected the course of the disease the most. Anders Rosengren describes the analysis by comparing it to the world of air travel.

"All airports are connected in a large network, but a disruption at a hub like Frankfurt Airport is much more serious than a disruption in Gothenburg. We searched out the hubs, i.e. the key genes, and the major links. Of almost 3,000 genes that were changed in diabetes, 168 could be described as Frankfurt genes. It was these we focused on,"

Lahore Metrobus Project

The Lahore Bus Rapid Transit or Lahore Metrobus (Urdu: لاہور میٹرو بس‎), is a bus rapid transit (BRT) system in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.

The first section, which consists of a 27-kilometres long route and 29 bus stations between Gajumata to Shahadra was opened by Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister Bekir Bozdağ and Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in February 2013.

Route:

The route covers dozens of residential and commercial localities along the city's main artery — Ferozepur road, linking together Lytton road, Jain Mandar, MAO College, Lower Mall, Civil Secretariat, Aiwan-i-Adal, Chowk Katchehry (District Courts), Shrine of Hazrat Data Ganj Bakhsh, Ravi Road, and Shahdra town. An 8-kilometer section of the route is elevated.

History of Project:

Lahore Transport Company was established in 1984 to ease the traffic conditions of Lahore and improve bus services. LTC got all the transport responsibilities of traveling in Lahore in December 2009. A BRTS fleet of 650 Buses was introduced. It was given name "TransLahore". However, the BRTS did not have dedicated lanes and had to share roads with regular traffic with no right of way privileges. This resulted in a system that was a BRTS only in name.

Construction and Operation :

Construction of the project was divided into different packages and was awarded to different contractors. M/s Zahir Khan & Brothers in Joint venture with M/s Reliable Engineering Services (Pvt.) Limited constructed the major part of the Flyover including two elevated rotaries for BRTS.

Lahore MBS currently operates a fleet of 86 buses. According to the Lahore Transport Company, the daily ridership of the Metrobus exceeds 180,000[1] with the peak hourly ridership being 10,000 passengers per hour per direction (p/h/d).

To keep the cost affordable for everyone Punjab Government has to pay Rs 40 as subsidy on each Re 20 ticket. (Wikipedia and MBS Lahore).

What is BIOS??

BIOS (basic input/output system) is the program a personalcomputer's microprocessor uses to get the computer system started after you turn it on. It also manages data flow between the computer's operating system and attached devices such as the hard disk, video adapter, keyboard, mouse and printer.

BIOS is an integral part of your computer and comes with it when you bring it home. (In contrast, the operating system can either be pre-installed by the manufacturer or vendor or installed by the user.) BIOS is a program that is made accessible to the microprocessor on an erasable programmable read-only memory (EPROM) chip. When you turn on your computer, the microprocessor passes control to the BIOS program, which is always located at the same place on EPROM.

When BIOS boots up (starts up) your computer, it first determines whether all of the attachments are in place and operational and then it loads the operating system (or key parts of it) into your computer's random access memory (RAM) from your hard disk or diskette drive.

With BIOS, your operating system and its applications are freed from having to understand exact details (such as hardware addresses) about the attached input/output devices. When device details change, only the BIOS program needs to be changed. Sometimes this change can be made during your system setup. In any case, neither your operating system or any applications you use need to be changed.

Although BIOS is theoretically always the intermediary between the microprocessor and I/O device control information and data flow, in some cases, BIOS can arrange for data to flow directly to memory from devices (such as video cards) that require faster data flow to be effective.

what matters for performance differences?

The main reason for performance differences is in common; The Core i3 processor chips are made for the budget PCs and low-end laptops. A general computer user who does good browsing and watching videos, the i3 processor works fine. The Core i3 processors have a low Cache size.

The mid-range computers have the i5 processors. PC’s with Core i5 are good for an average user and gaming.

The Core i7 CPUs are made for high-end PCs and laptops. These are used by users who do video editing, heavy gaming, and moviemaking.

Number of cores

If you look closely and carefully the main thing you’ll notice from the Core i5 and i7 processors have four cores, whereas the Core i3 models only have two. The cores will affect the performance of the processors the most.

Having multiple cores makes the computer work faster and does ease multitasking. Having more Cores drastically increases the speed of individual programs that are running.

Which One is Good ....???

A Core i3 is good and perfect for day-to-day use, i5 if you want to do video or photo editing, i7 if you do a lot of video editing in 4K.

What Is Ransomware?

It encrypts your whole system unless a ransom gets paid. After infecting your computer, the malware finds files with JPG, XLS, PNG, DOC and PPT file extensions. These important files are usually images and documents, so there is a good chance for the cyber criminals will encrypt your file that you need.

Cyber criminals create Ransomware for money, and it becomes the most powerful weapon for Hackers. It will display an image or a message that lets you know your data has been encrypted and you have to pay money to get it back. Mostly Hackers are trying to deal ransom payment through Bitcoins for hiding their real identity. After paying by the user, a victim will get the decryption key to decrypt their computer.

This week, psychologist Susan Blackmore suggests we use a friendly bug that feasts on plastic.It’s a newly evolved polythene-eating bacterium

A group of scientists from at Kyoto University, Japan discovered a species of plastic-eating bacteria which is capable to breaks down fully one of the most common kinds of plastic called Polyethylene terephthalate (PET), the type often used to package bottled drinks.

Earlier a group of Yale researchers has led to the discovery of a rare fungus that can break down plastic. And now its found that any microbes that can eat it.

To find the plastic-eating bacteria research team collected 250 PET-contaminated samples including sediment, soil and wastewater from a plastic bottle recycling site.

Next they screened the microbes living on the samples to see whether any of them were eating the PET and using it to grow. They originally found a consortium of bugs that appeared to break down a PET film, but they eventually discovered that just one of bacteria species was responsible for the PET degradation. They named it Ideonella sakainesis.

Social Engineering:

This Process is defined as the Hacking of the human mind without any tools…

This has become one of the hottest topics today and it seems to work out most of the times. Social Engineering doesn’t deal with the network security issues, vulnerabilities, exploits, etc. It just deals with simple Psychological tricks that help to get the information we want.

But what happens if some internal person of a network accidentally gives out the passwords. After all we are all humans; we are also vulnerable and can be easily exploited and compromised than the computers.

Social Engineering attacks have become most common during the chat sessions.

With the increase in use of Instant Messengers, any anonymous person may have a chat with another anywhere in the world. The most crucial part of this attack is to win the trust of the victim.

Phishing Attack:

The act of sending an e-mail to a user falsely claiming to be an established legitimate enterprise in an attempt to scam the user into surrendering private information that will be used for identity theft. The e-mail directs the user to visit a Web site where they are asked to update personal information, such as passwords and credit card, social security, and bank account numbers, that the legitimate organisation already has. The Web site, however, is bogus and set up only to steal the user’s information.

Keyloggers:

Keylogger is a software program or hardware device that is used to monitor and log each of the keys a user types into a computer keyboard. The user who installed the program or hardware device can then view all keys typed in by that user. Because these programs and hardware devices monitor the keys typed in a user can easily find user passwords and other information a user may not wish others to know about.

Keyloggers, as a surveillance tool, are often used by employers to ensure employees use work computers for business purposes only. Unfortunately, keyloggers can also be embedded in spyware allowing your information to be transmitted to an unknown third party.

Cookie Hijacking:

In cookie hijacking we can hack email accounts very easily.. This trick is very dangerous because whenever user change a password then there is no need to attacker for again hack Email- ID of victim. And it would take you to inbox of victim’s yahoo account without asking for any password of victim account.

Scientists from the University of Bristol, UK, claimed to have discovered a way to turn nuclear waste into radioactive black diamond batteries which have a life of over 5000 years.

They discovered a method by heating graphite blocks, which then gives off the radioactive carbon as a gas, which is then gathered and turned into the radioactive by using a high temperature chemical reaction. Through this chemical reaction, carbon atoms are left on the surface in small, dark diamond crystals.

It was found that these diamonds can produce a small electrical charge when they are placed near a radioactive source.

The newly created radioactive diamonds, the surface of which emit less radiation than a single banana, are then encased within a layer of non-radioactive diamond, to make them safe to handle.

The researchers have claimed that this method could create a battery which would be capable of generating clean electricity for as long as human civilization has existed.

The team has already demonstrated a prototype diamond battery using Nickel-63, but researchers said carbon-14 will make a more effective radiation source.
